Wanaka event the Alpha Challenge has been accredited as an official qualifying event for the Obstacle Course Racing World Championships.

2021’s OCR World Championships will be held September 23-26 at Stratton Mountain Resort, Vermont, USA. Since its inaugural event in 2014, the OCR World Championships has served as the premier independent world championships for the sport of OCR. Drawing more than 5,000 athletes from 70 nations, the OCR World Championships features both professional and amateur age-group competitions.

The following athletes at Alpha Challenge will qualify for the OCR World Championships:

  • The top two males and females in the Competitive division qualify for the OCR World Championships Pro division
  • Anyone achieving 100% obstacle completion in the 6km or 12km Competitive division qualify for the OCR World Championships Age Group divisions

Set against an epic backdrop, the Alpha Challenge is a Wanaka obstacle course event now in its second year. It has entrants jumping over walls, swinging on monkey bars and then relaxing with friends in the festival atmosphere at the finish line. Grab your friends and family and join in. Be prepared for mud, climbing, carry’s, monkey bars and loads of fun. Be bold, be brave, be alpha!
