For the final day of the 2017 ORNZ Advent Calendar, the challenge is to get comfortable being uncomfortable.
For today, get your running gear on: your shoes, socks, clothes (but not your phone just yet) and then take a shower, run through a stream, or so on… with your gear on! Because obstacle races typically include off-road terrain with multiple water crossings and mud pits, you’re going to be running in races while you’re wet, muddy, scratched up, and generally just in uncomfortable conditions. But conquering an uncomfortable course is what makes it so rewarding! So for today we’re doing our final workout while wet. Take a shower, run through a stream, or so on with your running gear on, and then complete the following, split up any way you choose: 30 min run, 100 lunges, 5 min crawling, x4 hangs till failure. For example: run 10 mins, do 10 lunges, do 1 min crawling, run 5 minutes, hang from a tree till grip failure, and so on until you complete the given amounts.
Congratulations on following us through 24 days, you’re now awesome in our books! See you at the next race!
And Merry Christmas!
Obstacle Racers NZ Advent Calendar!
Each day in December, leading up to Christmas, we’ll reveal a daily challenge to get in mud shape. This advent calendar doesn’t involve chocolate (you can click here for some great chocolate recipes), but it does involve mud. We present the 2017 ORNZ Advent Calendar: 24 Days to Obstacle Racing.
